Andrew

Andrew’s real name was the R-58 Droid. He was built by the Droidtech Corporation for the United States Military. R-58 was designed to be the ultimate soldier/assassin. He was built to resemble an attractive human male so he could be an effective killer. One year later, R-58 was part of a test flight. During the flight, his plane was shot down. It’s unknown who was responsible for shooting the plane down. When the plane crashed, R-58’s memory and motor functions were destroyed. R-58 was broken and lying next to a plane that was about to explode. Just then, a man named Jon Peterson came out of the woods and rescued the damaged R-58 unit. Jon took him home and repaired his android body and added modifications–emotional, sexual, educational, and ethical software. R-58 woke up angry! With no memory and no instructions, he grabbed Jon violently. Scared for his life, Jon lied to the android and told him that he was experiencing the symptoms of amnesia. Jon called the R-58 android Andrew. After one day of living with Jon, Andrew discovered that Jon was gay. Shocked at first, Andrew thought that he must be his lover. So, he started acting like it. Then, Andrew met Jon’s best friend, Janice Williams. Janice did not like Andrew from the first moment she met him. She saw Andrew as a bug that needed to be crushed. Upon visiting Club Honcho’s, Andrew was attacked by military men that seemed to know what and who he was. In the fight, Andrew was injured and discovered he was not a real human. Meanwhile, Janice convinced Jon to leave Andrew behind. Andrew killed the military men. He returned to Jon’s house to confront him about his existence. Jon told him the truth and Andrew angrily left Jon—Andrew felt he was being used. Janice was elated by Andrew’s actions and brought Jon a new man to replace the robot. Janice, thinking she had fixed everything, left for Hawaii. Six months later, Andrew returned to Jon’s house with an apology and an offer of companionship. He saw Jon as the only man that could help him find out who he was. He discovered Derek Thomas was Jon’s new boyfriend. Andrew set out to sabotage their relationship so that he could have Jon. He set up a video camera and enticed Derek into a sexual scene which he recorded. Later, he threatened Derek with showing this tape to Derek’s family if Derek didn’t leave Jon immediately. Derek told Jon he was just having “a bit of fun” with him and left the house. Andrew was ecstatic and immediately went to work on getting Jon back. Janice returned to discover that Andrew was back--she yelled at both of them and said she would discover the truth about what happened. Confronting Derek, she learned of the tape and quickly returned to Jon’s house to find it. She was appalled by what she saw on the tape. She threatened Andrew, when he returned from a shopping trip, with telling Jon the truth. During the argument, Janice’s painful past was revealed by Andrew. Janice burst into tears and she tried to resist his sympathy. Andrew managed to console her. Janice destroyed the videotape and told him that she would keep this secret. Andrew was thankful to Janice but wondered about their friendship. Andrew still wondered who he really was--who made him and why was it so important that they wanted him destroyed? He also wanted to find out what a real relationship was. At first, he was doing what Jon wanted him to do--now, he wanted Jon. He was starting to realize that he and Jon are in danger.

Jon Peterson

Jon Peterson was born in 1972. At an early age, he discovered he was interested in men. He was born to a conservative family who didn’t believe in homosexuality. So, at age 18, he left for the big city. While he attended an engineering college here, he met a football jock named Tyrone Masters. They became discrete lovers through their college years. Six years later, Jon and Tyrone decided to participate in a union ceremony. Jon’s new friend, Janice Williams, who was redecorating his new apartment, discovered the cheating activities of Tyrone and immediately informed Jon of the scandal. This hurt Jon tremendously and he lost faith in having intimacy with men. He broke the lease on the apartment and retreated to a house in the woods in desperation and sheltered himself from all relationships. Janice remained by his side through all of his sorrows and kept on the lookout for available men, that she approved of, for Jon. Five years later, Jon discovers a crashed plane containing a male android deep in the woods. He is instantly attracted to the android, and he decides to try and repair it. He carries it home to his workshop. Weeks later, Jon becomes obsessed with the droid and adds some modifications–emotional, sexual, educational and ethical software. Then, he reactivates him. The android comes violently alive and attacks Jon. The android has more emotion, feeling, and intensity than Jon could have ever imagined. Scared for his life, Jon lies to the android and tells him that he just had amnesia. Jon tells the android his name is Andrew. Upon visiting Club Honcho’s, Andrew is attacked by military men that seemed to know what and who he is. In the fight, Andrew is injured and discovers he is not a real human. He returns to Jon’s house to confront him about his existence. Jon tells him the truth and Andrew angrily leaves Jon. Janice is elated by Andrew’s actions and brings Jon a new man to replace the robot. Meanwhile, Janice, thinking she has fixed everything, leaves for Hawaii. Six months later, Andrew returns to Jon’s house with an apology and an offer of companionship. He discovers Derek Thomas in his place. Andrew sets out to sabotage their relationship so that he can have Jon. He sets up a video camera and entices Derek into a sexual scene which is recorded. Later, he threatens Derek with showing this tape to Jon and Derek’s family if Derek doesn’t leave Jon immediately. Derek tells Jon he was just having “a bit of fun” with him and leaves the house. Andrew is ecstatic and immediately goes to work on getting Jon back. Janice returns to discover that Andrew is back. Furiously she yells at both of them and says she will discover the truth about what happened. Confronting Derek, she learns of the tape and quickly returns to Jon’s house to find it. She is appalled by what she sees on the tape. She threatens Andrew, when he returns from a shopping trip, with telling Jon the truth. During the argument, Janice’s painful past is revealed by Andrew. Janice bursts into tears and she tries to resist his sympathy. Andrew manages to console her. Janice destroys the videotape and tells him that she will keep this secret. Jon, not knowing what Andrew has done, is developing a strong relationship with Andrew–to the point of displaying their affections in public. Jon is wondering if it’s possible to fall in love with an android.

Janice Williams

If you looked up self-righteous and judgmental in the dictionary, Janice William’s face would be found there. Defiant but trustworthy, Janice Williams is “The Bitch” of Man&Droid. She was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1975. As a teenager, she was raped by her father. In an enraged state, she yelled at him--triggering his fatal heart attack. After this, Janice turned cold. This earned her the nickname Janice “the bitch” Williams. It’s been said that she can insult anyone just by looking at them. Janice is emotionally liberal (believing in the rights of minorities, women, gays, and lesbians), but sexually conservative (strongly believes in monogamy). Janice met Jon Peterson five years ago to help him redecorate his apartment with Tyrone Masters, Jon’s lover. But she found Tyrone having sex with a stranger when she came to redecorate. Janice told Jon, and thus ended the six-year relationship between Jon and Tyrone. Janice and Jon became best friends. Five years later, Jon found an android in the woods nearby. He programmed the android to be his lover and named him Andrew. Janice found this both repulsive and vulgar. She saw Andrew as a sex toy (walking dildo) and immediately told Jon and his new android this. Using manipulation, Janice tried her best to break the pair up. When the issue of Andrew’s existence came up, Andrew confronted Jon and left him. This made Janice very happy. Before leaving for Hawaii, Janice introduced a new man to Jon–his name was Derek Thomas. Hoping Jon would forget Andrew, she had quickly pushed Jon and Derek together. When she came back, Derek was gone and Andrew was back in Jon’s life. This enraged Janice. She knew that Andrew had something to do with Derek’s disappearance. To Janice’s shock, she discovered that Andrew had sex with Derek and taped it on a video tape–a video tape she found and watched! She threatened to show Jon the tape. Andrew confronted her and, unintentionally, made her bring up her painful past. Janice broke into tears. As Andrew held her, he promised never to tell anyone what happened to her. Janice saw Andrew in a new light. She destroyed the video tape. And, she promised not to tell Jon of Andrew’s transgressions. The friendship between Andrew and Janice is still unsteady.
